#ThePowerOfCommunity

NCYC is the new name for the charity Neston Community Youth Centre Ltd.

Having the charity named after a building has been problematic for a while and with taking on Neston Civic Hall things were getting very confusing.

At the most recent AGM, the trustees of the charity decided to refer to the charity and all of it's work, including Neston Angels, Neston Flicks, Social Prescribing Service, community events etc as NCYC and to continue to use Neston Community Youth Centre to refer to the building on Burton Road.

NCYC is working on some very exciting things and we are now looking for people who want to support this work and we are looking to recruit up to 4 new Trustees. Our Trustees set the direction of the charity and have oversight of the work to ensure that we are meeting our charitable aims. The trustees meet monthly for up to 2 hours and all of our trustees live within the community we serve. This is a fantastic opportunity to offer your skills and knowledge and/or to get real world experience at Board Level.

Civic Hall Update

At the beginning of October Rachel Davies joined our team to take on the day to day running of Neston Civic Hall. As well as weekly Ballroom Dancing (Wednesdays), and monthly Neston Flower Society and Neston U3A meetings, Neston Players have been rehearsing for their next production "The Railway Children" which is showing from Wednesday November 16th. We have also been able to host a number of private parties. Since we opened the doors there have been 7841 attendances. There are more activities coming up including a comedy night, Neston Flicks every month and a Christmas Market.

If you would like to make an enquiry about the Civic Hall call Rachel on 0151 336 7805 or email nestoncivichall@nestoncyc.org.uk

Soon be Christmas!

Neston's Christmas Lights Switch On will take place on Saturday 26th November and we will soon be announcing the dates of lantern making workshops. In the meantime, here's some of our favourite photos from previous years...
