Neston Community and Youth Centre will be the site of the first Neston Earth Festival on 22nd September, 12 – 4pm. After two years of successful Wildlife Festivals, this year’s re-themed festival will be providing ideas, inspiration and ways for people to be directly involved with reducing our impact on the environment.
A host of organisations will be present with information, animals, free activities, local and eco-friendly items to purchase, as well as lots of freebies and tasters.

Visitors are free to bring their own picnics to enjoy in the plastic-free picnic area within NCYC’s beautiful wildlife garden. While they picnic there’ll also be live music throughout the day, a nature hunt, fairy home workshops, rock painting, seed bomb workshops and a storytelling tepee.
If you don’t want to bother making a plastic-free picnic, there’ll be local food producers on hand: Pen-y-lan Pork will be BBQing their award-winning, welfare-friendly sausages, Fellici’s will have their wonderful icecream, and Bluebonnet Cupcakes will be selling their scrummy cakes hand-made in Ness.
If you're interested in using less plastic and reducing waste in your daily life, the zero waste workshops and eco information stands will be a great place to start. Children can have fun recycling waste into creative crafts and adults can try making eco-friendly cleaning products.
Inside the community centre will be facepainting, crown making, a programme of eco-short films, toddler’s indoor play and a toy swap table – bring a toy that no longer pleases, and swap it for a pre-loved item to avoid it going into landfill.
As the NCYC car park will be bursting with stalls, parking will be available on the car park off Station Road and at Neston Primary school, but we’re hoping visitors will be taking the initiative to reduce their carbon footprint and walk or cycle to the event.
The festival will see the launch of a Neston Earth Group and NCYC volunteers will be signing up people on the day for a first meeting on Wednesday 25th September, 7pm at NCYC.
