Ever thought about teaching adults?

Please Note: This has been more popular than expected and the Information and Selection Evening is now full. However, You can still register your interest in any future opportunities.

Ever thought about working as a group facilitator or tutor?

Do you have a skill or hobby that you would like to teach others?

Do you think you have what it takes to teach adults?

If so, you may be interested in the following opportunity

LEVEL 3 AWARD IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING (QCF)

This training provides an opportunity for participants to learn about the roles and responsibilities in Education and Training, how to use inclusive teaching and learning approaches and how to assess learners work. The qualification is for people who are interested in working in adult education and provides a basic minimum standard for anyone entering a training/teaching role.

How will the training be delivered?

You will meet in small groups over 10-weekly sessions of 3 hours each and will be led through a structured course by trained tutors. This is an intensive and demanding course which involves participation in a range of teaching activities, so regular attendance is essential. There will be an observed and assessed micro-teach, plus home study tasks and written assignments outside of the group. Participants will also be required to complete teaching practice, which we can help arrange if necessary. Dates are yet to be confirmed, but the course will likely start early May 2018.

What skills do I need?

Ideally, participants should have minimum Level 2 (GCSE C) English and typically be educated to Level 3 (GCE ‘A’ level). However, final selection will be based on interviews.

What do you ask in return?

We are offering this training FREE OF CHARGE to suitable candidates, so we do want something in return …. All we ask of those selected is that, once fully trained and qualified, you agree to volunteer with us for minimum 2 hours per week for six months. After this, there may be opportunities for paid work with us or you may chose to pursue work elsewhere.
