Introducing the new and improved Neston Civic Hall

As you know, we were able to carry out vital patch repair work to the roof thanks to a grant from Cheshire West and Chester Council, this enabled us to feel more confident with taking larger booking request and hosting larger events. It is not, however, a long term solution, the patch repairs are just that and have only bought us time. There is no insulation and therefore every time there is damage to the roof tiles, through bad weather or anti social behaviour the hall is exposed to the elements and we suffer leaks. We are continuing to work towards securing funding for a full roof replacement, the only thing that would confidently ensure the long term future of Neston Civic Hall.

Not people to sit back and wait, our phenomenal volunteer maintenance team have been extremely busy over the last few months tackling all and every job possible, carrying out a range of repair, maintenance and renovation tasks at Neston Civic Hall.

Examples of some of the work that has been completed in the last few weeks:

Woodwork has been replaced, repaired and repainted.

Pipework has been boxed in.

Holes caused by leaks have been repaired.

Walls and ceilings have been replastered.

The hall, bar lounge, dressing toilets and corridors have been painted.

The foyer floor has been repaired and replaced.

The dressing room has been completely refurbished and renamed 'The Beatles Room'.

The committee room has been completely refurbished and is awaiting a rename.

Due to the recent spate of anti-social behaviour and significant damage caused to the Civic Hall we have added additional CCTV. Thank you to Councillor Louise Gittins, Councillor Keith Millar and Councillor Martin Barker who provided funding via the Members Budget for this work.

Photos of the work can be seen below but it really doesn't do it justice!
