CH64 Community Volunteer Awards 2026

On Friday 15th May 2026 Neston Civic Hall hosted the third CH64 Community Volunteer Awards ceremony and what an evening it was!

The awards started in 2024 when NCYC and Shop 4 Neston decided to organise an annual event to recognise and thank all the wonderful people in our community that volunteer their time to make CH64 the fantastic place it is!


We had an incredible 49 nominations across the 6 categories and the winners of each category were decided by the nominees.

The winner was Breige McCarron - Breige leads the bereavement group in Neston. She is very empathetic, she takes time to welcome and talk to new members, she facilitates conversations and steps in when people talk over each other. This group is a lifeline for me and I'm sure other members. Through her leadership we have a reason to get up on a Monday morning, she is available to talk outside of the group if needed and she is also a fun and kind person.

The winner was Stephanie Taylor - Steph volunteers with several organisations and has been supporting NCYC by utilising her videography and photography skills by putting together promotional videos about volunteering. Steph understands the importance of volunteering and wants to support her community by showcasing why people should volunteer. Steph has also offered her support in leading a photography course for young people and is working with NCYC to make this a reality.

The winner was Shop4Neston - Excellent community spirit.

For donating over £80,000 to Local Community good causes giving opportunities to people with different abilities and having a carbon neutral approach to all waste.

Great shop selling various items at reasonable prices. Great recycling for the Community. Well done all.

They do amazing work for the Community and also provide kindness and support to individuals.

Young Person

The winner was Lexie and Ella - For being Amazing, Lovely, friendly girls, helpful.

Both were helpful friendly and a credit to Shop4Neston.

The winner was Neston community christmas dinner - Every year Louise, Andrew and Alex plus many volunteers put a Xmas dinner on for people on their own. It`s amazing like a 5 star restaurant and ensures no one has to spend christmas day alone.

The winner was Chris Lett - She brings so much joy to people's lives with her Ukulele group 64N ukes. Chris has works really hard raising money for local charities and supporting local events in and around Neston.

A final award was presented to a couple who have worked tirelessly over the years volunteering in and around Neston.


Outstanding Contribution

This award honours a demonstration of exceptional dedication, innovation, and excellence in their field, while also making a meaningful impact in their community. Through outstanding performance and a commitment to service, the recipient has contributed to both organisational success and the well being of others. their leadership, integrity and community engagement set a high standard and serve as an inspiration to those around them.

This award was presented to Sue and Steve Anderton.
